IN STOCK! New Quaife 60G Sequential Gearbox

The new Quaife 6-speed heavy duty in-line RWD sequential gearbox has been designed as a direct replacement for the Ford Sierra Type 9 gearbox, and incorporates a modular gear cluster on 80mm shaft centres. Quaife has returned to its first principles with this new heavy duty in-line gearbox, opting for a cutting edge, clean-sheet design. The result is a new 6-speed sequential unit, the QBE60G, which weighs in at just 38 kilograms. Designed for rear wheel drive applications capable of handling up to a maximum of 400 lb/ft and 450 bhp, the QBE60G offers ultra-rapid and smooth gearshifts, allied to superior strength and reliability, and even features paddle shift compatibility. The Quaife 6 speed heavy duty in-line RWD sequential gearbox has been designed with open face dogs on both the gears and drive discs to allow for easier gear inter-changeability and has a drum type sequential gearchange system which produces a positive engagement with the gear lever position options. It has a front face which is designed to mate directly to an existing Ford Type 9 bellhousing, using the original four or optional six bolt fitment and acts as a direct drop-in replacement for the original Ford Sierra Type 9 gearbox.

Quaife 5 speed dogbox

Ford Sierra (Type 9) 5-speed dog engagement Quaife gearbox with alloy maincase and gear lever is available to fit Ford Sierra models, as a replacement for the standard Ford Type 9 gearbox. This Ford Sierra (Type 9) 5-speed dog engagement Quaife gearbox with alloy maincase and gear lever comes with straight cut gears, in close ratios. This is only available as a complete gearbox. This Ford Sierra (Type 9) 5-speed dog engagement Quaife gearbox with alloy maincase and gear lever, utilises the latest 4 dog, open dog face design, and runs with needle roller bearings to support free running gears. The layshaft of this gearbox is assembled using separate gears and includes a Quaife mainshaft as a replacement for the standard Ford shaft. This gearbox comes complete with Quaife gear lever and alloy top cover. There is a choice of input shaft lengths, and a large choice of ratios.

The maximum recommended power for this gearkit is 275bhp.

NOW AVAILABLE - QBE69G Six Speed Sequential in-line Gearbox

Quaife Engineering is delighted to confirm that it has delivered the first batch of its new heavy duty in-line six speed sequential gearbox, which is rated to over 750 bhp.

Designed to suit the high torque and power handling requirements of the endurance racing market, the new QBE69G incorporates the following key technical features:-

 90mm shaft centres and large gears to maximise strength
 Modular six speed gear cluster layout
 An integral oil pump for optimised lubrication
 A sleek, modern casing design
 Semi-automatic paddleshift compatibility
 Many choices of gear ratios
 Overall weight approximately 45 kilograms
 Choice of input shafts available

Use of the very latest dog engagement tooth profiles in the 69G has resulted in a six speed sequential unit which allows ultra rapid gear changes and not only offers users a choice of gear lever locations, but also the option to upgrade to a state of the art closed loop, pneumatically operated semi automatic paddle shift system.

The QBE69G gearbox is supplied with a choice of straight cut (spur) or helical gear ratio sets:

Bellhousing options including Dodge Viper and Sierra Cosworth YBT pattern are already available and, in addition, use of an specially designed adaptor plate ensures that the QBE69G is compatible with fitments already offered for Quaife’s smaller QBE60G unit, including the Ford Duratec and Nissan 350Z.
